Established on the western side of the University of Sydney in 1926, the College is now heritage listed and was built in traditional Collegiate style. The College offers beautiful surrounds with the tranquil landscaped quadrangle, St Johns Oval, and the Lavender Garden. Sancta Sophia College has one hundred and forty bedrooms ranging in size and style, including single and twin rooms. A limited number of rooms have ensuites and/or double beds available.

All rooms in the College are student bedrooms, most of which share convenient bathroom facilities. The majority of rooms are single, but a number of twin rooms are available. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided in kitchenettes on each floor, and each wing has a comfortable common room with television. Rooms are fully serviced, and laundry services are provided in each wing. There is a telephone in every room, and guests can have access to the internet from the computer labs. Parking is available within the College grounds at cost of $8 per day if staying in College.
